Nuestra experiencia al participar en este intercambio cultural en Ontario Canadá con la Academia Ann Milne, ha sido mas que satisfactoria, constituye para nosotros un placer haber compartido estas 3 semanas con las alumnas de la misma, profesores y por supuesto con la Directora Ann Milne; cada entidad ha sido beneficiada con las actividades celebradas: ensayos, clases magistrales de Repertorio y Ballet con la Prof. Alfa Rodríguez, Highland con la Prof. Ann Milne, Danza Contemporánea con la Prof. Liza Almánzar; así como funciones, presentaciones de clases abiertas al público y otros. En la entrevista para El diario SUNTIMES de Canadá en su edición digital la señora Ann Milne manifestó la asombrosa experiencia de poder contar con la presencia de los bailarines dominicanos de Ballet Contémpora, catalogándolos como inspiración y estimulación a sus estudiantes y al público general de Owen Sound (Véase: http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/ArticleDisplayGenContent.aspx?e=6515). Además de la publicación de periódico digital Sun Times colocó en Primera Plana imágenes de los bailarines y de las alumnas de la Academia Ann Milne. En la función ¨Variations Of Classical Ballets¨ del 21 de junio en el Teatro Roxy de Owen Sound Ontario Canada se presentaron las variaciones de: Baile de Graduados y Diana y Acteón por Carolina Tavárez, Sylvia Pizzicato y Pas de trois de I acto de Lago de los Cisnes por Lina Paola Genao, Pas de deux de Llamas de París por Mariel Méndez y Juan Capellán, quien además acompañó a Yeira Genao en el Pas de deux del III acto de Don Quijote; dentro del marco contemporáneo esta última pareja interpretó Instintos de Dulce Lenia Suriel quien además junto a la Maestra Alfa Rodríguez pusieron en escena el 6º movimiento del Ballet Plasma en estreno mundial. El día 23 en el Teatro de la Escuela Elemental Santo Domingo Sabio se presentó el repertorio: Sylvia Pizzicato y Paquita por Lina Paola Genao, Baile de Graduados y Kitri del I acto de Don Quijote por Carolina Tavarez, El Corsario y Cupido del II acto de Don Quijote por Yeira Genao y Pas de deux de Llamas de París por Mariel Méndez y Juan Capellán. La acogida de estos programas superó cualquier expectativa del público presente, quienes clasificaron como espectacular la interpretación de los roles clásicos y contemporáneos como la limpieza técnica de los bailarines de Ballet Contémpora. Este intercambio concluye de manera exitosa creando lazos de amistad y de interrelación internacional; esperamos para la Bienal Internacional del Concurso la visita de nuestros amigos canadienses este próximo año 2009. Ballet Contempora, Inc. of DR in cultural interchange with Ann Milne Academy – Owen Sound Ontario, Canada We had a very satisfactory experience to participate in the cultural interchange in Ontario Canada with the Ann Milne Academy. It was an huge pleasure to share with the students, the teachers and of course the Director Ann Milne during three weeks; both institutions had been benefited with the activities performed: rehearsals, magisterial classes of Repertoire and Ballet with teacher Alfa Rodriguez, Highland with teacher Ann Milne and Contemporary Dance with teacher Liza Almanzar, as well as performances of classes open to the general public. In the interview with the SUNTIMES papers in Canada in their digital edition Ms. Ann Milne manifested the amazing experience to be in the presence of the Dominican dancers of Ballet Contempora, cataloging them as inspiration and stimulation for the students and general public of Owen Sound (Click: http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/ArticleDisplayGenContent.aspx?e=6515). As well as the digital article SUNTIMES published in their first page of their printed edition photos of the Dominican dancers and students from Ann Milne Academy. In the performance of “Variations of Classical Ballets” on June 21th, 2008 in Roxy Theater, Own Sound, Ontario, they presented variations of the following classics: Graduate Dance, Diana & Acteon by Carolina Tavaez, Sylvia Pizzicato and Pas de Trois from the I act of Swan Lake by Lina Paola Genao, Pas de Deux of The Flames of Paris by Mariel Mendez and Juan Capellan, who accompanied Yeira Genao in the Pas de deux of the third act of Don Quixote. In the contemporary framework this last couple performed Instincts from Dulce Lenia Suriel, who besides their teacher Alfa Rodriguez, put on stage the 6th movement of the Ballet Plasma, as a world premiere. On June 23rd in the theater of Santo Domingo Sabio Elementary School they performed the following repertoire: Sylvia Pizzicato and Paquita by Lina Paola Genao, Graduate Dance and Kitri from the I act of Don Quixote by Carolina Tavarez, Le Corsaire and Cupid from the 2nd act of Don Quixote by Yeira Genao and Pas de Deux of Flames of Paris by Mariel Mendez and Juan Capellan. The acceptance from the audience of these programs exceeded the expectation. They classified the interpretations as spectaculars, the classic roles as wells as the contemporary ones. They were impressed by the cleanliness and the beauty of the techniques of the Ballet Contempora dancers. This interchange finished as a total success, creating friendship and international cultural relationship. Now we are waiting the visit of our Canadian friends next year for the International Bienal Contest.
